Mr. River

$100.00

This piece was included in the gallery show “These Days”, a collaboration with photographer Bill Webb, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee. Once I processed the blocks of black walnut, their unique patterns of wood grain began to look like landscape paintings to me. A favorite landscape near me is the Mississippi River. I absolutely love the way the sunlight reflects off the current of this river and used that as an inspiration for this piece. I paired it with Bill’s image of the cathedral in New Orleans, which is also near the banks of that lovely river. It’s a stretch…forgive me. But I was also reminded on the artist selling their work in the surrounding square. Most of them sell multiples of the nearly same image. Hence the reason I grouped this piece the way that I did.

Black walnut blocks with wire and abaca paper details. Seven blocks of various sizes. If you would like to purchase the photograph in the images please contact me. It will cost an additional $150.00.
