Seashells

$500.00

This piece was included in the gallery show “These Days”, a collaboration with photographer Bill Webb, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee. I was lucky enough to be with Bill when he caught this image. We were turning around on the highway so that he could capture a different image but then we saw this one and remarked how cool it was. I wasn’t sure what direction to take the piece I wanted to make for this image but again settled with reflecting on my dating life. Metaphorically, there’s a whole section of those experiences that resemble an artful collection of dumpsters. As I’ve grown and am figuring out the things I do and don’t want in a partner there are connections I’ve had to unceremoniously leave behind. It’s never fun to turn someone down but it’s also not fun to string them along if there’s not potential for what they are looking for. In all fairness I’ve been left behind too and this piece represents the attitude I’ve adopted about either side of this ordeal.

Bailing wire letters, pigmented abaca paper on steel wire. Free installation services for local purchases only. If you would like to purchase the photograph in the images please contact me. It will cost an additional $150.00.
